Pictures! 170 Pounds

Date: Friday, August 21, 2009
Weight: 170 pounds
Jean Size: 10

There's an exclamation mark in the title but I'm not really excited. In fact, I'm super embarassed. Although Jenny is not my real name, I think I need an alias for my alias, so no one can EVER figure out who I am. Jenny is too close to my real name. From this day forward, my new name is Kenny. (I discovered South Park 2 days ago. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.)

NOTE: The following pictures do not in any way indicate how I normally dress. I looked through my closet for the tightest top I had and tightest bottoms, and they just so happened not to match.

Observations: My legs aren't too bad, but my tummy and arms need some serious work. The new gym I signed up is a branch of Premier Fitness, called Madamoiselle Fitness. It's an all girl's gym and has all the machines I've ever wanted to use at my old gym, but couldn't because that's where all the hot guys hung out. I had to stick to cardio... So now my legs look really good in jeans, but I have to struggle to button them at the top around my tummy.

I forgot to measure my inches today. I'll post that info tomorrow. I'll also post new pictures every week. At first, it'll be hard to notice a change if I'm posting that often, but towards the end of my diet, even a loss of 5 pounds will be noticeable. That's what I've seen with other girls.

Goals:
Lose 5 pounds by the end of this week by working out like a maniac and eating nothing but sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and broccolli.

Oh and, I'm not sure how fast inches are lost or gained, so I'll measure myself tomorrow, then measure myself again in 1 week. After that, I'll be able to make reasonable goals regarding inch loss. This week I'll stick to pounds.

Not gonna check yet.

It's been 2 months. I just got home from visiting family in the States. I was there for about a month. Before that, I was going through some personal stuff, which is why even though I was posting here, I wasn't motivated to go kick some treadmill butt. Aaaand although I haven't been dieting at all, nor working out, I'm fairly sure I haven't gained anything.

But I'm too scared to check. So I won't post a new number for a couple of days. Man. If I had stuck to the diet I would have finished by now. Jeesh. I'm so lame.

Another thing, just to make things interesting for myself, I will start posting pictures of my body changes. Out of the 80 or so pounds that I wanted to lose, I'm half way there (crossing my fingers I haven't gained in the last 2 months) and it's weird that my body doesn't look any different. I mean, I bought jeans from Old Navy before I left for the States, and I was able to wear size 10 comfortably. I haven't fit into size 10 jeans since 9th grade.

Those jeans prove that I am losing inches, but I don't see a significant difference in the mirror. Posting pictures for the second half of my weight loss will be more dramatic I suppose, as the last 30 pounds or so have always seemed to make the most difference when I've observed other people's weight loss.

Just two more months of eating right and working out and I'll be done. I'll finally be done.

I'll post the first pic tomorrow.

169

After my last depressing post where I said I was 178, I fasted for one day. I didn't even have water. All I had was a Yogen Fruz. The next morning it said my weight is 169 or 170... AGAIN.

So the extra 9 pounds was prolly just water and digested food lining my intestines, because there's no way in hell I lost 9 pounds in 1 day, unless I had plastic surgery in my sleep. Which I'm fairly sure I didn't.

SO. Back t0 169. I signed up at a new girl's only gym yesterday, which is great because now I can do weights. At my old gym, all the hot, ripped guys used to hang out in the weights section, so I was too shy to go. All I did was run on the treadmill, climb the stairmaster, etc. Which is pretty awesome, but I need weights to tone up my belly and arms.

Stay Strong. Diet on. I don't feel I'm worthy of exclamation marks right now.

178. I suck. Truly, I do.

I don't know how many weeks it's been since my last post. I'm too depressed to even look. The day I found out I was 169, was the day we decided to go to some huge buffet for some reason. I foolishly thought I'd be able to cheat that ONE DAY, and then continue on with my strict diet and excercise.

Big mistake. And the stupid thing is, I've made this mistake before. I always tell myself, "Hey, just eat this one little dish to celebrate our success so far. Just diet again tomorrow as if today never happened." That is why I said I suck. Because I never learn.

OKAY.

Enough self-loathing. Let's try this again.

I am currently 178. In the last month I have gained back 9 pounds. Which, honestly, doesn't seem healthy or even possible to me, so I'm going to attribute that huge number to food that's already in my digestive system, because before when I was dieting, I felt very light and empty. Now, since I've been eating like a pig, I'm going to assume that I've got a pound or two worth of food lining my gut. Plus I ate a lot yesterday.

Today, I've been good. Although I've only been awake for an hour. I was tempted to eat last night's left over spaghetti, but there was a box of sliced cucumbers and a bottle of olives right next to it. And, like a good dieter, I picked the cucmbers and olives. :)

I'm going to rewrite my food plan, excercise plan, and timeline, just to give me that last oomph of motivation.

FOOD PLAN:

Morning: 2 tomatoes ahhhh crap. Who cares. I'm too tired. How about I just eat healthy for the next few days and tell you what I ate? That sounds much easier.

As for my timeline, THAT interests me, so here we go.

TIMELINE:

June
Week 4: 178 - 6 = 172

July
Week 1: 172 - 6 = 166
Week 2: 166 - 6 = 160
Week 3: 160 - 6 = 154
Week 4: 154 - 6 = 148

August
Week 1: 148 - 6 = 142
Week 2: 142 - 6 = 136
Week 3: 136 - 6 = 130

Crap. This is gonna take FOREVER. If I had stuck to the diet for the last month, I'd already be half way there. CRAP!!!!!!!!

Breakthrough Study: Yogert Aids Weight-Loss

(THE ARTICLE IS LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST)

Remember how I was saying that my weight loss skyrocketed when I started eating Yogen Fruz daily? Suddenly I was seeing the scale go down a few pounds more than I was expecting everytime I weighed myself.

I did some research, and it turns out that a new study PROVES that non-fat yogurt increases the amount of fat-loss, particularly in the stomach area.

For 12 weeks, two groups were put on a calorie-restricted diet (which means they ate 500 fewer calories/day than usual.) and one of those groups had to eat non-fat yogurt 3 times a day. All of them lost weight, as expected, since they were eating fewer calories, but the Yogurt group lost more weight.

Here are the stats:

The Non-Yogurt group lost an average of 11 pounds.
The Yogurt group lost an average of 14 pounds.
The Yogurt group also lost 81% more fat in the stomach area than the non-yogurt group.

Although BOTH the groups consumed dairy, the Non-Yogurt group was only fed 400-500 milligrams of calcium/day, while the Yogurt group was fed 1100 milligrams of calcium/day.

Aaaannnd guess how many milligrams of calcium there are in a cup of Yogen Fruz...

1000!

Perfect. So people, if you can afford super expensive Yogen Fruz, go for it. It's $3.66 for a small cup, and $4.92 for a large cup. Pricey, I know. The only way I can afford to eat it everyday is because I get a discount. I only have to pay 2 bucks for a large.

If Yogen Fruz is out of your budget, then buy non-fat yogurt cups from the grocery store. They have a HUGE array of flavours. I see their ads on tv like 10 times a day.

So this is something nice to help boost our weight-loss. Fun and guilt free yogurt :)

Try it!

169!!

I'm in the 160 range! I've hit 169!

To be honest I don't look any different. I really don't. But the scale keeps saying I'm getting smaller and smaller. The pants I wear to work keep falling, but I was attributing that to the fact that they were extremely tight polyester when I first wore them, and now the buttons and seams are loosening a bit, because of all the walking and bending.

But I guess I am actually losing weight. I tried on size 11 pants the other day. They were stretchy, so I was able to worm my way into them, but they were still extremely tight. So I'm assuming I'm size 12. (Fairweather doesn't have size 12 pants so I couldn't check for sure.)

BUT WHO CARES!!! I'm 169!!

I've already lose 36 pounds, and now I only have 34 pounds to go!!!!

STAY STRONG! DIET ON!
